Descripción

“Tools for Intercultural Education” Project (subsidized by the European Union 2005-4678-001-001-SO2-81AWC)

The project was a space for the production of materials for an anti-racist and intercultural education.

The beneficiaries of the project were, directly, teachers of various levels and degrees, teaching staff coaches, associations involved with informal, anti-racist education and also against xenophobia and, indirectly, children, students, youth, adults and trainers. In addition, the diversity of the three participating countries contributed their own historical and intercultural relations.

The project consisted in action-research activities, with comparative analysis of teaching materials and methodologies, and testing and evaluation of innovative teaching methodologies. The project partners experienced in their own countries and discussed the results in two seminars in Spain and Romania. For the online learning and work has created a mechanism of newsgroups which in turn enabled to observe the use of ICT and audio-visual media in action in an intercultural space, and at the same time learn and reflect on the practices that enhanced their own use.

The final product was a CD-ROM with multimedia material containing the results of the project in the languages of the participating countries. The product is presented in the final seminar, in addition to being distributed in each country through various activities, seeking to build at the same time a network of transnational projects.

In this project, FUNIBER contributed with its own cultural experiences and methodology.

The objective of the project, carried out by other entities in Spain, Italy and Romania, was to put together different experiences to make an exchange of good practices and experience teaching materials and methodologies, making adaptations or creating new material. In particular, the methodology based on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the audiovisual support, was the object of study.

Intercultural education is rather than a study, a discipline, a transversal approach suitable for different education levels as: language learning and scholarly disciplines, anti-racist programs for boys and girls and young people and without formal contexts, education for European citizens, lifelong learning for adults, and vocational training for working with immigrants and their families.
